The Town & Gown event is a function of the COCAR Outreach Committee. Through partnerships with the University of Central Oklahoma's Finance - Real Estate academic program, we assist students in finding internships with real estate companies, appraisers, title and abstract companies, and in other affiliated industries. To help acquaint students with potential internship opportunities, we sponsor a Town & Gown event each spring and fall semester. The purposes of the Town & Gown events are to:
Raise funds for the UCO Finance - Real Estate program and Scholarships
Provide for networking between students and real estate industry professionals to facilitate internships Provide Continuing Education for Real Estate Licensees
Professionals wishing to establish formal Internship/apprentice programs with UCO's Real Estate Program should contact Dr. David Chapman (program coordinator) to understand the requirements of both the university and licensing agencies.
The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce's Greater Grad website is a resource for nonacademic internships.
.
The University of Central Oklahoma offers a Minor in Real Estate. This program is the only academic real estate program at any Oklahoma public institution of higher education.
